The Russian ministry of foreign affairs presented its concept of ensuring collective security in the Gulf.

It is based on principles of creating a unified anti-terrorist coalition under the auspices of the UN Security Council to eliminate an extremist center in the Middle East, a political settlement of problems in Syria and other countries in the region, compliance with Security Council resolutions and the UN Charter and peacekeeping operations, reports RIA Novosti news agency.

Among the specific proposals of the Russian foreign ministry is the creation of a security organization with the representatives of the Persian Gulf countries, Russia, the USA, China, India, the EU and any countries that would be interested.

Also, the Russian side proposed to sign an agreement on arms control, a treaty on combating international terrorism, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, migration and organized crime, create demilitarized zones and have the permanent foreign bases being withdrawn.
