The majority of Russians — 85% — believe that the country needs to build friendly relations with Ukraine. 11% of respondents have the opposite opinion.


61% of the polled people believe that the cooperation between the two countries has not changed much during the past year. A quarter (25%) of the respondents feel that the relations between Moscow and Kiev are getting tense. 8% of the respondents believe that the relations are getting better, says the data published by VCIOM Russian public opinion research center.

The responsibility for the current state of the relations between the two countries was put on Ukraine by 44% of the respondents, while 39% of Russians believe that both parties are equally responsible for the crisis.

Earlier, the VCIOM poll showed that more than two thirds of Russian have a good opinion about Ukraine.
