The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has received a request from German authorities for the technical assistance in investigating the situation with the poisoning of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.

A team of experts from the technical secretariat independently took biomedical samples from Navalny for analysis at OPCW-designated laboratories. <...> The results of this analysis are expected soon and will be passed on to the German authorities, Interfax reports, quoting OPCW.

NEWS.ru reported earlier that Berlin passed Navalny's blood samples to specialists from France and Sweden.
Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny felt unwell aboard a flight from Tomsk to Moscow on August 20.

According to German authorities, he was poisoned with a substance from the Novichok group in Russia.
