The head of Roskosmos state space corporation Dmitry Rogozin said that the Turkish astronaut could be sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2021–2023.

According to the official, a very strong push was given to the development of Russo-Turkish cooperation in the space sector during the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2019. Dmitry Rogozin personally suggested to the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan to send the first Turkish astronaut into space to celebrate the anniversary of the formation of the republic.

Now this question is studied by the Turkish side, reports TASS news agency quoting Dmitry Rogozin.

Earlier, News.ru reported that Roskosmos increased ISS «life span» forecast.
